Margaret and Greg Engagement Session

We were downtown in the heat Sunday evening for a great engagement session with Margaret and Greg whose wedding we’ll be photographing this October. We started at some of our favorite spots then did a bit of wandering and found some new ones. At their request, we even did our very first planking photos. More to come at the wedding maybe?

Engagement planking – the next big trend?

Babies, babies, babies!!!

Over the past couple of weeks we’ve had quite a few little ones in the studio and we haven’t had the time to blog after each session.  So, here are a few highlights (and out takes) of the sessions for you to enjoy.  I don’t know if it’s been the heat, the moon phase or the stress of the tough loss to Japan in the World Cup Final but we’ve had our share of fussy ones.  Hopefully the heat will pass and the babies will return to their happy selves soon!

Stacy and Aaron’s wedding – Tussey Mountain

We had just met Stacy for the first time about 2 weeks ago when she finally got into PA. Her and Aaron are originally from the area but are currently living in California and had not been able to meet with us or do the engagement session prior to their wedding. Aaron, we realized as soon as we saw him, had been a groomsmen in a wedding we did last summer so he knew what to expect. But beside that bit of familiarity with Aaron we were a little unsure of how the two would do in front of the camera. Well, despite the high heat and the brutal sun and our just recently meeting the couple they did amazing and the photos turned out fantastic. We started with the bride getting ready at her sister’s house and then met up with the guys at Curtain Village to do the bridal party photos. From there it was off to Tussey Mountain for the ceremony and the reception.

Looking back it was a tough day with the heat and sun but everybody did amazing – no complaints from the bridal party at all! We are very proud of the photos we got and hope that Stacy and Aaron will enjoy them for years to come.

Heather and Matt’s Wedding

Heather and Matt were married at St. John’s Church in Bellefonte and had their reception at the State College Knights of Columbus Hall. We knew they were a really fun couple and had been looking forward to their wedding for a while.  It turned out to be a hot, hot July day but that couldn’t keep them down or us from getting some great shots. We did a few quick photos at Tallyrand before leaving Bellefonte and then hit up a few different locations on the PSU campus, including a secret location (see bridal party jumping photo) that turned out to be fabulous! Overall, it was a fantastic day that lived up to and exceeded our expectations for this wonderful couple.

Andrea was in love with Heather’s green shoes

First moments together on their wedding day!

We LOVED the car they had to ride around in!

Did we mention we loved their ride?

The Biebs even made a brief appearance at the reception.

Kiyah – 6 Months

Here’s a quick peek at our session from this morning with miss Kiyah Sue. We have know her parent’s Laurie and Neil since we met them in preparation for their wedding photos about 4 years ago. More recently this year we have donematernity photosand thennewborn photoswhen Kiyah was just a few weeks old. Well, 6 months have passed and she’s all grown up but still doesn’t like having her picture taken. But, despite her putting up a fight we definitely got some great shots!

Brandi – State College Maternity Portraits

Another great maternity photo session, this time with second time mom-to-be Brandi.  She asked us to create some beautiful, tasteful, artistic and classy portraits of her to document this special occasion.  I think we came through with flying colors, what do you think?

Heather and Jeremy – Engagement Session

Heather is the cousin of one of our favorite customers of all time, Ashley, who has been to us for engagement, wedding, baby and family photos. Not to mention she was Andrea’s delivery nurse and has sent us business from the whole maternity wing at Mt Nittany Hospital. So, from the first time we met Heather at last September’s bridal expo on we could tell she knew our work well and was excited to work with us. For us, any time we get to work with a great referral and someone excited to partner with us, the photos always show that extra bit of something special – Heather was certainly no exception (and Jeremy did pretty well, too!). We met with Jeremy and Heather outside the Shandygaff for some quick photos then were off to the arboretum. Why the Shandygaff? Well, not only is that where Heather and Jeremy met but apparently so have about 8 or 10 other people in their families. At the arboretum the sun was shining bright and we got some more fantastic shots. We’ve been at the arboretum quite a bit lately and maybe we’ll get sick of it someday but definitely not yet!

Caitlin and Justin’s Wedding – Marrara’s Mountain Lodge

We met with Caitlin and Justin before their wedding at Toftrees Resort to do some preparation photos. We started with Caitlin getting ready and then did some portraits of her and her girls. After the same treatment for Justin and his guys we all headed out to Marrara’s Mountain Lodge where the ceremony and reception took place. It was a fantastic day for June – mid 70′s and partly cloudy. Very, very comfortable and not too sunny for photos. The only hiccup was a bit of rain while we were at Toftrees with the guys but it held off the rest of the day and the ceremony went off outdoors as planned. Cailtin had the lodge beautifully decorated, indoors and out, making for some great detail shots. Overall it was a great wedding – fantastic weather, great locations, fun and photogenic couple – what more could a couple of photographers ask for?

Adalyn Rae – State College Newborn Photography

Ashley is another one of our many maternity session moms who was due right around July 4th.  She too, like Heather (Jackson’s mommy) didn’t quite make it to July.  Adalyn was such a sweet little girl, hardly ever fussing and just as content as could be.  She did try and fight off going to sleep for a while but once she did she was out!  Hopefully her easy going nature will continue for her lucky parents through toddler years and beyond!
