As the lucky recipient of this fine piece of craftsmanship, I must say it was the diaper cake to end all diaper cakes!

I definitely saved all of the beautiful artwork Andrea did and will do something great with it! Nothing cracks me up like those mer-people and sea lion dog.

I think they saved the whole topper (diapers and all), kind of like how you save the topper from your wedding cake. I’m not sure what they’ve done with the other drawings but the mobile is a great idea! The main structure/mechanized part of the cake will be saved and repurposed for the next shower. We’re thinking a jungle theme with a tree in the middle and monkeys flying around would be good.

Wow! That’s crazy. You guys are good friends. The people who brought gift cards were surely ashamed! So, please tell me that the couple will frame their mer-selves for a good laugh/awesome portrait AND that the cute and realistic fishies will be used in a mobile in the nursery? Surely there is something in there that could easily become the most complicated mobile ever? Also, what is the engineer renaming this project so he can put his many hours of effort onto his resume without calling it a diaper-cake? “Subcontracter, non-profit project, J and A Photo…” haha. This is very awesome!

Thank you for all you did to capture all the little details of our big day. Despite the rain and cold weather, you both worked to get great shots around campus, in places we would never have thought to go. We are excited to see all the rest of the pictures.
