Shannon and Bill – The end of an era

After 4 years, 4 siblings, and 4 weddings, all the Boone kids are finally married!  It all started with Stacey and Ted – Stacey was the maid of honor in another wedding we did for Karey and Paul (who we’ve since done baby and family photos for) – then it was Jake and Mandy, then last year Amanda and Jeremy, and now it is Shannon’s turn.  Shannon and Bill came to us about a week after they got engaged, knowing of course that we’d be their photographers!  We absolutely love working with the Boone family and have made some great friends over the years.

Shannon and Bill got married at the United Methodist church in Bellefonte, just behind the high school.  We found some really nice little spots there to do the pre-ceremony bridal party photos with the guys and the girls separately.  After the ceremony ended the bridal party loaded up in their stretch Hummer and headed to campus for some shots in our special secret field spot :) (just kidding, it’s not really a secret) and then on to Old Main.  We didn’t have a lot of time but we worked quickly and the bridal party was cooperative allowing us to still get some fantastic shots.

We’ll definitely miss doing weddings for the Boone’s but we know there will be lots more babies in the future (Jake and Mandy and Stacey and Ted have already been to us for baby pics too!)  Congratulations Shannon and Bill, we wish you and your wonderful families nothing but the best!!!

Stephanie and Josh – Engagement Photos on Penn State Campus

We’ve been really, really busy lately and have not been keeping up with blogging our portrait sessions but Stephanie and Josh were so much fun we just had to include them.  They had a ton of personality and weren’t afraid to show it in front of the camera; a perfect combination for great photos!  That, plus the really cool bow tie – what more could a couple of photographers ask for?

We hope you enjoy the photos Stephanie and Josh and we can’t wait for your wedding in September!

Ashley and Nick – State College Wedding Photography

Ashley and Nick had an absolutely beautiful spring day for their wedding.  The ceremony was in downtown State College at Faith United Church of Christ and the Reception was at Tussey Mountain Lodge.  They had a really fun and enthusiastic wedding party and very friendly and helpful families.  From start to finish everything went just about as perfect as you could ever ask for a wedding.  Beautiful day, beautiful couple, beautiful pictures!

Best of luck Nick and Ashley, thanks for the fun day!!!

Michelle and Chris – Penn State Wedding Photography

Michelle and Chris had a great wedding!  Ceremony at the Pasquerilla Spiritual Center, Reception at the Nittany Lion Inn and photos on campus – doesn’t get much more Penn State than that!  But being at Penn State the one thing you can always count on is unpredictable weather. Their engagement photos were rained out a few times for us so when we saw the weather reports calling for a chance of rain on their wedding day we were staring to think that maybe they were cursed.  But the rain held off and they had a beautiful day with a bright blue sky and puffy white clouds.  They gave us lots of time and had a lot of ideas of where to do photos on campus and it paid off!

Beth and Brock – Penn State Engagement Photos

After a week or more of heavy rains and flooding, having shoot after shoot cancelled and following the weather reports hourly we were still unsure a few hours before Beth and Brock’s engagement session whether or not it would even happen.  But we took a chance and it paid off with the sky cleared up and even giving us a few spots of sun.  We did have a little mud to trample through at the Alumni Center but it was well worth it.  Beth and Brock were a lot of fun to work with and we can’t wait for their wedding next summer!

Emily and Dan’s Wedding – June 12, 2011

Emily and Dan got married at the beautifulGeneral Potter Farmon a gorgeous (and hot!) Sunday afternoon in June. We met with them at their hotel rooms to do some preparation photos and then went with them to some various spots on campus to do photos with them and their bridal party. Overall it was a challenging but fun bright and sunny day.  Congratulations Emily and Dan!

Somebody (we won’t name names) forgot to bring Dan’s tux along to the hotel so he had quite a bit of downtime waiting for his dad to run back to their home in Pleasant Gap to pick it up.  There was a lot of time to relax, some Karate Kid watching and even a bit of beer pong played during the wait.

When his dad did arrive there was a frantic, almost NASCAR pitcrew-like frenzy to get Dan ready.

Caitlin and Justin – engagement session

We met Caitlin last September at the Central PA Bridal Expo where she booked us for her upcoming wedding at Marrara’s Mountain Lodge. We had only briefly met Justin when we were discussing their wedding day timeline and were thankful to get to know both of them a bit better before the big day. It was a hot and muggy evening and Justing was feeling a bit “under the weather” (thanks to his bachelor party the night before) but he managed to make it through as we got some great shots.

Courteney and Neil – Engagement Session

We braved the cold this past weekend to get some engagement photos for Courteney and Neil. They didn’t complain at all and were a lot of fun – can’t wait for their wedding in August!

Ashley and Nick Engagement Session

Another great fall day – another great couple! Ashley and Nick had stopped by our booth at thewedding showcaselast month and are now well on their way to planning their May 2012 wedding. We did their engagement photos on the PSU campus at Old Main and the surrounding area. They brought their beautiful dog Morgan along and she jumped in a few shots with them. Morgan is an extremely photogenic and well behaved Australian Blue Healer. We’ve photographed couples with dogs in the past but Morgan was by far the easiest we’ve ever had the pleasure of working with.

Cara and Billy – October 2, 2010

Another great wedding this past weekend! Cara and Billy were married at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in downtown State College with reception to follow at Celebration Hall. We had planned to do most of the photography on campus at PSU but due to huge crowds for parent’s weekend we decided to make a detour to Spring Creek Park. It worked out really well as we were able to get some fantastic shots there!
