Dakota 6 months – State College Baby Photography

We had photographed Dakota for his newborn session and the whole family again at Christmas.  So why feature them on the blog again you ask?  Well, he’s just so darn cute we couldn’t resist.  He was all full of smiles and giggles and made the perfect little model.  Why, oh why, can’t all our babies be this cooperative?!!

Baby Adam – State College Newborn Photography

Nicolle and Bryan are another one of our past wedding couples who have come back to us as their family has begun to grow.  It is one of our greatest pleasures to watch couples and families grow and change.  It seems that we always get to see people at their best, during exciting and changing times.  Weddings, maternity, babies, graduation – all big, important life events that we do feel truly blessed to be trusted enough to share in.

Baby Adam is such a blessing to Nicolle and Bryan and we hope to be fortunate enough to be a part of his life as he grows.  God bless and good luck to the new family! – Joel

Seniors, seniors, seniors!!! – State College portrait photography

Well, it’s back to school for State High and that means time for those who have not already done so to start thinking about senior pictures.  The deadline for submission to the yearbook is rapidly approaching and that means our schedule is full, full, full!  We’ve been quite busy the past couple of weeks and things aren’t looking like they are slowing down anytime soon.  Here is a sample of some of our favorite photos from the past few sessions.  Enjoy!

Nathan – 9 months

Nathan was back in the studio, this time for his 9 month session.  Just like for his 3 month portraits his mom and dad brought him all the way from Pittsburgh just to see us!  We were right in the middle of a crazy thunderstorm and even a tornado warning but the power managed to stay on and it didn’t seen to phase Nathan as he smiled through the whole session.  Good job Nathan, we’ll see you in a few months for a cake smash I hope!

Dakota – 1 month old

We were a bit concerned that Dakota was too old to get the sleepy, newborn photos that his mom wanted.  He just turned 1 month and we typically like to get the newborns when they are just 5-10 days old.  But Dakota was a wonderful sleeper and didn’t even seem to mind being moved around and positioned as much as some newborns just days old do.  We worked through a few different setups and added in some super cute crocheted hats that his mommy had made for him.  Look for more of her hats in our photos in the future, we’re already working on an order :)

Megan’s senior photos – State College senior portraits

We had another fantastic State High senior portrait shoot the other day.   This time we photographed the lovely Megan, who had booked our “Portfolio” session.  We started with a couple of looks in the studio and then went on location to Penn State’s Arboretum.  I could tell from the first click that Megan was a natural in front of the camera smiling with ease and grace.  With her vibrant red hair, she really popped off our teal printed background.  In a more low-key scene, she posed for us in a sassy (but classy) purple dress which made her look stunning and elegant.  Outside at the Arboretum we took a more care-free approach.  We frolicked in fields and flowers…actually Megan was the one who was in the tall grasses, but she was a good sport about it.  We ended up getting some really great shots giving her a nice variety in her photos.  Overall, I think we all had fun plus the heat took a break while we were there (thank God)!  Excellent job Megan, and we hope you love your photos as much as we do.  -  Andrea : )

Babies, babies, babies!!!

Over the past couple of weeks we’ve had quite a few little ones in the studio and we haven’t had the time to blog after each session.  So, here are a few highlights (and out takes) of the sessions for you to enjoy.  I don’t know if it’s been the heat, the moon phase or the stress of the tough loss to Japan in the World Cup Final but we’ve had our share of fussy ones.  Hopefully the heat will pass and the babies will return to their happy selves soon!

Well, 6 months have passed and she’s all grown up but still doesn’t like having her picture taken. But, despite her putting up a fight we definitely got some great shots!

Brandi – State College Maternity Portraits

Another great maternity photo session, this time with second time mom-to-be Brandi.  She asked us to create some beautiful, tasteful, artistic and classy portraits of her to document this special occasion.  I think we came through with flying colors, what do you think?
